ART WALK EDMONDS LAUNCHES FREE SUMMER MURAL TOURS

Explore the stories, history, wildlife and creativity behind Edmonds’ vibrant mural scene

This summer, Art Walk Edmonds is inviting the community to experience downtown Edmonds in a whole new way with a free series of guided mural tours taking place in June, July, and August.

On each Third Thursday Art Walk evening, mural tours will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the courtyard at Main Street Commons and explore a different theme woven throughout Edmonds’ growing collection of public murals.

June 18, 2026: This tour focuses on the history of Edmonds, featuring 11 murals that trace the community’s story from its origins as a temporary fishing camp of the Salish Sea tribes to the present day. Participants will travel down Main Street to Second Avenue before returning to Main Street Commons.

July 16, 2026 this tour’s focus is life along the Salish Sea, visiting 10 murals that celebrate indigenous wildlife, maritime culture, and Edmonds’ deep connection to the water. This tour will remain primarily along upper Main Street and Fifth Avenue.

August 20, 2026 tour explores “The Art of the Mural,” examining a variety of mural styles and how artists adapt their work to complement building architecture. Guests will visit murals throughout upper Main Street and Fifth Avenue, with organizers hoping to include a look at the new mural scheduled to be installed this summer.

All tours are free and open to the public, but donations are welcome. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged. After the tour, please stay in town to enjoy the Third Thursday Art Walk!

The murals, tours, and community art experiences created by Art Walk Edmonds are made possible by people who love this community and believe in keeping the arts accessible to everyone. Funding comes primarily from the organization’s popular Summer Wine Walks (tickets on sale now here!) along with generous support from individual donors, grants, and local business sponsors. If you’d like to help bring more public art and creative experiences to Edmonds, donations can be made here.‍ ‍
