Michele Cooper has taught watercolor for over 35 years in the Pacific NW. Featured in The Ultimate Guide to Painting from Photographs & Gary Greene's Artists' Photo Reference: Buildings and Barns, by North Light Books. Michele has two new books on travel sketching as well as three sets of greeting cards. One set is especially about Edmonds. Drawing, painting and anything to do with art has always been Michele Cooper’s passion. She loves sharing her discoveries and has taught adult watercolor workshops both internationally and locally from Anacortes to Seattle since 1979.

Shiva Partovi is a Persian-born abstract expressionist painter working in acrylic and oil pastels on canvas. She left Iran as a child, and her work carries the memories she took with her: Persian turquoise, the pinks of her family's rose garden and the carpets of her childhood home. She is rooted in spiritual reflection and the rhythms of dance, piano, and poetry – especially Rumi, whose poems sometimes begin a painting. Shiva approaches painting as both a physical and contemplative practice. She begins after quiet reflection, painting upright on the wall or flat on the ground, her rhythm internal, brushing and marking with whatever tool the canvas asks for. Her layered compositions unfold through intuitive gesture, luminous color, and expressive movement: shifting fields that open spaces of stillness and evoke perseverance, resilience, and the enduring human capacity for hope. Ultimately the paintings invite each viewer into their own journey where vulnerability and courage can surface. For Shiva, life is lived in the moments between chaos and calm.

Amy Irwin is an artist, Intentional Creativity® painter and teacher, writer, singer, and vibrational sound practitioner. Intentional Creativity® paintings are intuitive and don’t follow the rules and proportions of classical art. Painting this way is a liberating form of self-expression that encourages the inner to emerge as the painter sees it, rather than what external culture imposes. Amy explores archetypal images through a feminine perspective. Through her acrylic paintings, Amy creates portals between the real and the imaginal, the earthbound and ethereal, the symbol and the soul.

Drake Nailon is a local photographer and artist behind AutoFocusArts, born in Seattle and considers the Puget Sound area his home. Having a lifelong passion for all things automotive that has shaped the direction his art has taken. Compelled to capture the often-overlooked details and passion hidden in plain sight, Drake finds beauty in the curves and shapes that create reflection and capture your attention and imagination. His photos draw the eye to the subtle details that even the owners of these automobiles sometimes miss. His work spans a variety of mediums, such as photography, acrylics, watercolor, and collage. He believes that working in a single medium is restrictive to his artistic process, each idea manifesting in its own individual style. Drake playfully refers to his subjects as rolling sculpture, his work, automotive portraiture, his eye drawn to hidden detail, to the reflection and form found within the automobile. Drake passion is capturing something unusual and sharing it with the viewer.

Sara is a fashion designer, seamstress and curator who creates her own line of vintage-inspired sportswear to pair with vintage clothing or as stand alone sets. Inspired by designs from the 70s to Y2K she also creates fashion accessories like wristbands, headbands, jewelry and visors. Participants can design their own visors and wristbands as part of the show. As a transgender athlete and designer, she strives to remind all players that sports are meant to be fun, social and a way to express our own style. She also maintains an archive of European vintage designs from the 70s and 80s which will be on display but not for sale during art walk.

Maren Oates is a Seattle-area artist working in collage and gel plate printmaking. Using a gelatin-like plate and acrylic paint, she creates monoprints and monotypes without a press, embracing a process built on experimentation. Maren’s printing tools are often discarded items, such as tape spools, plastic gift cards, and kitchen utensils.
The Child’s Play series began with an accidental image transfer while Maren was using vintage Bingo cards as printing paper. Intrigued by the result, she began shaping this abstract body of work around childhood play, using the graphic quality of the Bingo cards with imagery made from found toy and game parts.

Tori Peters is an active member of the Edmonds writing community. She has written for local news outlets, The Narrative Project Anthologies and is also a poet. Her latest work is a memoir, My View from Here: My Journey Around the World as a Diplomat's Wife, published in March.

Kristin Logsdon is the artist behind Bird Star Studio, based in Edmonds, Washington. Working primarily in watercolor and printmaking, she creates artwork inspired by the plants, animals, and quiet moments that make the Pacific Northwest feel like home.
Her paintings invite viewers to slow down and notice the extraordinary beauty found in everyday nature. Case Kelley’s work is rooted in the idea that every place, experience, and relationship leaves a mark. Through layers of paint, collage, texture, and gesture, he explores the tension between what we choose to reveal and what remains beneath the surface.
Growing up in Southern California, Kelley was surrounded by vibrant color, open light, and the rhythm of the coast. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, his perspective shifted. The dramatic skies, changing seasons, rugged shorelines, and quiet moments found in places like Edmonds have become an endless source of inspiration. Rather than recreating landscapes, he aims to capture their emotional essence - the feeling of standing at the water's edge, watching light move across the horizon, or finding calm in the midst of constant change.
Each painting develops through intuition. Layers are built, obscured, scraped away, and rediscovered, creating a visual history that mirrors our own experiences. The process embraces imperfection, spontaneity, and curiosity, allowing unexpected moments to shape the final composition. For Kelley, painting is less about depicting a place than preserving the emotion of being there.
Kelley hopes his work invites viewers to slow down and look beyond the surface. Whether someone connects with a color, a texture, a memory, or simply a feeling they can't quite name, he wants each piece to become a personal experience rather than a fixed narrative.

Between Tides and Trees is a month-long exhibition by Leah Welch that celebrates the beauty, character, and quiet moments found in the Pacific Northwest landscape. Featuring primarily landscapes and seascapes, along with a selection of animal paintings, the works explore the varied beauty of the natural world—from the movement and changing moods of the water to the enduring presence of forests and the wildlife that inhabits them.
In addition to the exhibition, visitors will have an opportunity to support arts education in the Edmonds community through a month-long silent auction of one of the artist’s paintings. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Gallery North Art Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a high school student in the Edmonds School District.

Presenting "Glass Landscapes," a collection of masterworks by the award-winning British glass artist, Richard Glass, from Devon’s historic Teign Valley Studio. This series represents the pinnacle of his practice, which seamlessly blends the technical precision of traditional crystal making with a deep, intuitive response to the natural world.
These mid-to-large scale bowls are more than vessels; they are encapsulated micro-environments. Working with molten glass at the furnace, Glass creates each unique landscape not on the surface, but “witched” between the internal and external walls. The resulting works are an exploration of "wild, earthy, and ethereal" beauty. Strata of sediment, swirling coastal mist, and moorland light are forever held within the glass, shifting as the viewer changes their gaze. The effect is ancient yet fleeting, a captured moment of geological time. Come experience this intersection of fire and memory!

During the Third Thursday Art Walk, Bar Americano presents “Singer Songwriter Sessions,” an open mic night hosted by local acoustic duo Soulcem. Join us for an evening of live music featuring artists from Edmonds and beyond, performing both original songs and favorite covers. This community-centered event celebrates local creativity and connection. Photos and videos will be captured throughout the evening and shared with participating musicians. Artists are encouraged to bring their instruments and share their sound (PA system provided). Cami Smith is a Seattle-based mixed-media and textile artist with a 30-year practice rooted in painting, layering, stitching, and working with nontraditional surfaces. She loves to explore stories and story-telling in her art, and constantly seeks new ways to express that. Insatiably curious, Cami scouts out new opportunities to explore different cultures and their unique art techniques. Her international art studies and experiences - from France and Mexico, to the Netherlands, Ecuador, China, and, most recently, India, continue to shape her creative lens and approach to storytelling through mixed media.
Her career includes 13 years at the Kennedy Center, six years on the Washington State Arts Commission, and launching Edmonds College's ArtsNow program. Currently, she serves Fiber Art Now magazine as a writer, juror, and advocate for contemporary fine craft, having juried more than forty calls for art.

Scott Lacy has been drawn to photography since he was a kid, and that curiosity has never faded—it has simply evolved through different cameras over the years. While you'll often find him photographing his kids' soccer games with a digital camera, he almost always has a 35mm film camera slung over his shoulder, ready for whatever catches his eye. For Scott, film is more than a medium; it's an excuse to travel, wander somewhere new, slow down, and see the world with greater intention, always chasing interesting light, thoughtful composition, and fresh perspectives.
Isabel Calkins Mata is a queer, neurodivergent artist and public servant based in Lynnwood, Washington. A writer, painter, film photographer, and singer in an early-aughts rock band, she is passionate about storytelling, creative expression, and building communities where people can show up as their full selves. She began shooting film as an antidote to constant scrolling, drawn to the medium's invitation to slow down and pay attention. Her photographs reflect a love of nature, small moments, and the beauty that emerges when we move through the world with curiosity and presence.
Brendan Griffin is a photographer born and raised in Seattle. Since 2024 he’s been taking photos on vintage 35mm film SLRs. A big fan of traveling and shooting on different film stocks. His reoccurring subjects are landscapes, animals, and macro photography of plants. He’s had his work displayed at AXIS gallery in Pioneer Square and at We Develop Film in Edmonds.

Kerri Kirk is an award-winning fiber artist from the Pacific Northwest. She’s been an artist all her life, but first got interested in felting wool in 2019, received two kits for her birthday, and hasn’t stopped creating since. She is inspired by nature and bright colors, and incorporates different textures into her works. All fiber is game for being transformed into a beautiful piece of felted artwork. Whether by wet-felting or needle-felting, merino or corriedale, coconut or silk, it’s all a fun journey of creativity. Kerri also now teaches felting techniques at Stranded By The Sea, right here in Edmonds!

Young Lee developed for passion for creative art when she immigrated to the United States. She put her passion on hold while she owned and operated four restaurants and raised a family. When Young retired in 2017, she began her road to achieve her passion; she took workshops at Gage Academy and private lessons from local recognized artists. Young developed her passion through her developing skills in pastels, acrylic oils and sumi ink creations. Young is a member of KAAW, a 20+ year-old organization for the development of Asian American Artists, and Plein Air Washington. In 2023, Young achieved her dream of opening a boutique gallery and studio when she opened Young Gallery in Edmonds. There she has her studio and presents her art, alongside with other aspiring artists to whom she provides space. Young expresses her passion for family, nature and wildlife, inner peace and love through her artwork.
