Arin is a watercolor and mixed media artist heavily influenced by the contrasting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the way humanity and nature intertwine. With a background in the physical sciences, her work exists at the intersection of nature, science and art, and her dream is to show people that science and art are two sides of the same coin. She paints "en plein air" (on-location), hiking all around the PNW with her sketchbook and small pieces of paper to capture the light, colors and atmosphere of reality that tend to disappear in a photo or a memory. Her landscape paintings showcase the way she views her connection to the land around her: vibrant, detailed, and scientific but also a little bit magical. She was an Artist in Residence at the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument in 2025, and continues to teach art and field sketching for middle school and high school science field trips as well as workshops and classes for all ages.

Chapel of Sound & Art (CoSA)// Shelly Tiemeyer

The Landing 300 Admiral Way, Suite 107, open by appointment
SEE ART DURING THIRD THURSDAY ART WALK ON OCTOBER 15TH 5-8PM ONLY

Shelly Tiemeyer grew up watching Bob Ross paint his “happy little clouds” and insist there were no mistakes when it came to painting. He said anyone could be a painter, even Shelly. Shelly was mesmerized. It was many years later, when Shelly's son started first grade, that she started to paint. It was a place of experimenting -- and discovering what might happen next. A place where surprises might surface, on the canvas, and inside of her.

Shelly likes to paint silhouettes of colorful women, the divine feminine. Women who are lost and who are found. Women who are hidden and who are seen. Women who don’t belong and belong more than ever. They can not be defined. They can not be diminished. They are no one. They are everyone. With all of painting there is waiting. There is nothingness. And yet, something emerges. Eventually. Mercifully. Only to disappear again. Into the darkness. Until the next moment. And the next. Art reveals that there is no arrival. Only being found over and over again.

Crow // Liz Park

105 5th Ave S, open Monday - Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON OCTOBER 15TH 5-8PM

Liz Park is originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania. She has pursued art from an early age, and continued her education by majoring in painting at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, GA. Upon graduating with a B.F.A. in 2006, she moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she lived and worked as a horse wrangler on a guest ranch for several years. In Jackson, the roots of her career as a modern western wildlife artist took shape. The surrounding scenery and wildlife she encountered there continues to be one of the main subjects of her artwork.

Throughout the years, she has held many interesting jobs on the way to becoming a full time artist. In addition to leading trail rides at the guest ranch, she’s worked in reservations at a ski resort, worked in the design department for a t-shirt company, made hand-made granola bars for an organic energy bar company, and was a ‘bark-tender’ at a dog bar. During this time, she was always creating art and participating in various shows. Liz moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2017. She was able to make the jump to doing art completely full-time in 2021. In addition to participating in many local festivals and shows, Liz travels to Montana for the Out West Show and Sale every March.

Her primary medium is acrylic paint on either canvas or varnished wood surfaces, but is also prolific in creating works in watercolor as well as graphite drawings on toned paper. For her works on canvas, she waters down the acrylic quite a bit to mimic the way watercolor behaves, and is able to work quickly with the short drying time to add layers and depth. For her works on wood, she loves letting the natural grain of the wood show through as an integral part of the finished piece. Her main subject continues to be wildlife, and she is fortunate to have photographed many of the animals that she uses in her work herself over the years of her travels. A self-proclaimed ‘animal-nerd’, Liz’s main love has always been, and will always be, animals of all kinds.

Sloan Foundation, and awards from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Geophysical Union. Before becoming a journalist, Kwok worked in a genetics lab at Stanford University. She lives in the Seattle area and is originally from Canada.

“In Lost in Curiosity, Kwok pulls back the curtain on what scientific discovery actually looks like… Not a Eureka moment, but a fraught, often chaotic pursuit of truth. Through vivid reporting and moments of unexpected emotion, Kwok reveals the inner lives of researchers who care profoundly about understanding our world and saving what's left of it. From enigmatic fossils and mind-bending physics to the puzzling behavior of wild animals, Lost in Curiosity is a journey through the questions that keep scientists up at night—and the sometimes strange, always illuminating paths they take to answer them.”

SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON OCTOBER 15TH 5-8PM

Robin Moore is a Seattle-area artist working primarily in encaustic, an ancient medium made from beeswax, pigment, and heat. Her abstract landscapes are inspired by memory, weather, water, and the emotional pull of place. Built slowly in layers of molten wax, her paintings are fused with flame, scraped, carved, and marked until the surfaces hold both depth and light.

Rather than depicting a specific landscape, Robin is interested in the feeling of one, shifting weather, an open horizon, the movement of water, or the moment a familiar place suddenly makes you stop and look. Her work balances experimentation and intention, allowing the materials themselves to help determine where each painting goes. Robin works from her studio in the Seattle area, where she also teaches small encaustic workshops.

In college, Lewing got seduced by clay and glazes, and made his living as a potter for 22 years. Since 1986, his ceramic work has been on ceramic tile. "I have done well over 1000 tile commissions," he said. In 2008, Lewing started painting again on canvas, this time in acrylic. "It’s like being a kid again, and I’m painting the same things I was painting as a kid- landscapes and wildlife. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy doing them" Lewing remarked with a smile.

Photo HQ // Meg Valliant, Richard Mata, Anthony Huss, Scott Lacy

186 Sunset Ave, open Monday - Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON OCTOBER 15TH 5-8PM

Meg Valliant grew up in the Edmonds area where she would roam around on her bicycle. She began to take photos on her family’s cameras regularly in high school and quickly discovered that taking photos while on cycling adventures lead her to new discoveries of the world around her. Decades later, Meg continues to go on two wheeled adventures with her camera. She used her skills as a bicycle mechanic to lead her into a career in motion pictures as a camera technician. You may see her on a ride, on set helping crews, or coaching sports… that is when she isn’t on the sidelines snapping photos of the action.

Richard Mata is a Chicano musician and film photographer currently based in Lynnwood, Washington. As a software engineer and drummer in an early-aughts rock band, he enjoys capturing grand architecture, vast scenescapes, and natural wonders. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Richard attended UC Santa Barbara for his Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics, and Claremont Graduate University for his Master’s in Mathematics. He moved to Seattle in December 2020 with his wife, Isabel before residing in Lynnwood. Richard began shooting film as a way to ground himself in a fast-pace tech world. His photography is inspired by the duality of scale found in the natural world and the quiet, reverent beauty in the unconventional.

Anthony Huss is an Edmonds-based photographer and visual artist whose work has appeared in nearly 50 exhibitions throughout the Seattle area. He earned a Certificate in Photography from the University of Washington, and his photography has been featured in full-page layouts in Pacific Publishing newspapers. For the past six years, he has also served as photographer for Art by Fire, a glassblowing studio in Issaquah, Washington. Working in photography for five decades, beginning with film and traditional darkroom printing, Huss explores architecture, unposed human presence and the quieter psychological character of familiar places.

Scott Lacy has been drawn to photography since he was a kid, and that curiosity has never faded—it has simply evolved through different cameras over the years. While you'll often find him photographing his kids' soccer games with a digital camera, he almost always has a 35mm film camera slung over his shoulder, ready for whatever catches his eye. For Scott, film is more than a medium; it's an excuse to travel, wander somewhere new, slow down, and see the world with greater intention, always chasing interesting light, thoughtful composition, and fresh perspectives.
